ELECTING DEMOCRATS. UP AND DOWN THE BALLOT.

As our next Democratic Party Chair, I’ll have one job: Elect as many Democrats as possible.

Our party is the last line of defense for Georgia’s working families. We must protect Georgians from authoritarian billionaires tanking our economy while they line their own pockets with our tax dollars, crippling our public schools, and destroying Social Security and Medicare.

We have to fight everywhere - defeating Republicans in races across this statefrom Governor to the school board.

I was born in rural West Georgia, so I know this state is not just our cities and suburbs, but our small towns and wide open country too. In my first term as Chair, I’ll personally travel to all 159 counties, recruiting candidates, funding campaigns, and making sure Democrats win.

As a two-time statewide nominee, I’ve received thousands of donations and raised millions.  As Chair, I’ll leverage my ability to fundraise to support our candidates.

But most importantly, as our next DPG Chair I will ensure the Democratic Party of Georgia keeps the promise that our party has made to every single Georgian: We will stand up and fight for you.

I’ll stop at nothing to make the Democratic Party of Georgia the strongest it’s ever been.

ABOUT CHARLIE BAILEY

Charlie Bailey for Democratic Party of Georgia Chair

Charlie is running to be Chair of the Democratic Party of Georgia because he has the experience needed to build on the successes of previous election cycles and create a winning infrastructure for Democrats at every level. From his work as an attorney fighting Trump-backed MAGA extremists to his work as a political operative - Charlie brings the right strategy and experience to lead Georgia Democrats to victory.

Charlie has been working to elect Democrats for decades. He began his career in politics with the Young Democrats of UGA and went on to become a political operative. At the University of Georgia, Charlie served as Political Director for the Young Democrats chapter. He worked as the Political Director of Haines for Congress in 2004, Political Coordinator of Taylor for Governor in 2005 and 2006, and then Campaign Manager for Marlow for Congress in 2007.

As an attorney, Charlie continued working to elect Democrats. In 2024, when the State Elections Board was trying to make last minute rule changes to stop the vote certification in the event VP Harris won, Charlie represented five local Board of Election members pro bono challenging the Election Board’s last minute rule changes. He has also raised thousands of dollars for Democrats running for office, including acting as both a formal and informal advisor to dozens of candidates.

Charlie served as the Democratic nominee for Attorney General in 2018 and Lieutenant Governor in 2022. In both races, he received thousands of donations and raised millions. As DPG Chair, he would leverage his fundraising ability to attract critical investments into Georgia and ensure the resources reach candidates all the way up and down the ballot.

Prior to running for office, Charlie’s legal career was guided by his commitment to justice for those who have been harmed by the wrongdoing of others. He served as Senior Assistant District Attorney in Fulton County, successfully securing convictions in numerous cases of violent crime including homicide, domestic violence, and aggravated battery to deliver justice for victims and their families. As part of the organized crime and gang unit, Charlie relentlessly pursued the most violent and dangerous offenders to protect the community.

Before serving as a prosecutor, Charlie worked at the law firm founded by former Governor Roy Barnes. He currently practices law at Cook & Connelly, getting civil justice for individuals against big insurance companies and corporations.

Charlie grew up on his family’s cattle farm in Harris County, Georgia. He earned undergraduate degrees in Religion and Political Science from the University of Georgia and a law degree from the University of Georgia’s School of Law.
